Story of the Pair New Balance 2002R Salehe Bembury Peace Be The Journey
The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R "Peace Be The Journey" is the result of an exclusive partnership between the Boston-based brand and the New York-based designer.
This New Balance 2002R was designed in two days by the current vice president of Versace's men's footwear division and is inspired by the famed Antelope Canyon, located in the southeast.
We're not disappointed (quite the opposite!) that Jesse Williams, who played Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey's Anatomy, modeled the promotional campaign. The partnership will no doubt highlight the early 2000s model with an 860v sole.
Full of details that are a pleasure to see
Just like the canyon, this pair is packed with texture. In fact, the runner benefits from a yellow mesh upper that is complemented by orange suede overlays and some burgundy leather uppers. Finally, an "N" logo in sky blue on turned leather is visible on the quarter panel. An "N-ergy" speckle effect is also visible on the midsole, and Salehe Bembury branding can be seen on the laces and rubber insoles.
A pair that sells well
Released at a retail price of $150 USD on October 23, 2020, the price has increased considerably as it can be found today for around $450, a 300% increase! For this kind of collaboration this is a great performance, far exceeding the return on investment of any stock index or investment fund! What more could you ask for?
