Sample

Sample is a term used to describe a sneaker prototype that is given to a select few. Generally, these sneakers are not available to the general public, and they are often made with unique materials and colorways. Sample sneakers can often fetch a high price due to their rarity and the fact that they were never released to the public. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a pair, they can be a great addition to any sneaker collection.

However, it's important to note that not all sample sneakers are created equal. Some samples are created for the purpose of testing new designs or materials and may not be aesthetically pleasing or even wearable. These types of samples are often referred to as "wear test" samples and are not as valuable as the more visually appealing ones.

Sample sneakers are typically created in very limited quantities, sometimes only a handful, which makes them highly sought after by collectors. Some samples can be found through online marketplaces, such as eBay or Grailed, but they can also be obtained through exclusive sneaker events, such as sneaker conventions or release parties.

It's also worth mentioning that not all samples are created by the brands themselves. Sometimes, customizers or individual sneaker designers will create their own samples to showcase their work and creativity. These types of samples can be even more unique and valuable, as they represent a one-of-a-kind creation.
